This season's favorite quote so far seems to be the infamous "ask around." I admit, I love it too... It inspired several icons. :) Feel free to snag them from my profile if you want, just give credit and leave a comment to let me know!

I've been feeling lately that I really need to write something. I just haven't been able to settle on what, exactly, it is that I'd like to start in on... My fics in progress can take on a life of their own, so while I'm working on it I've accepted that it will own me.

I really want to do something with 24... I'm just not sure I feel competent with this season's characters to do something that gels with the feel of the current series. I'm quite taken with the idea of Jack/Renee Walker, but I'm also seeing so much that pulls me towards Jack/Tony.

So... I suppose I'll spend a bit of time this afternoon searching for fics that will motivate me in one direction or another. :)  Maybe I'll find a video or two that will help as well. Some fanvids are really great motivators...

Almost Grace

Over about the past year or so I've been finding myself drawn to reading slash fiction. Anyone who knows me would be completely surprised by this. I guess folks don't know me as well as they think...

I admit, when the new show Moonlight first debuted I was wary of it. There are way too many cliche vampire tales floating around. Still, despite my misgivings, I found myself drawn to it every Friday night. There is no denying that Mick St. John is hot, and even moreso for his tortured vampire existence and the handicaps it places on his romantic life. My other favorite character, though, is Josef. He's just so complex and so darned cute - a cuteness that can dissolve in a heartbeat as he becomes both lethal and amoral. (Tortured anti-heroes are a weakness of mine that began with Darth Vader...)

The angle of Josef/Mick first piqued my interest during the episode where Mick believes Josef has been killed. Alex O'Loughlin went for broke in one scene and outright cried with grief at the loss of his friend. The idea that he lost so much when Josef died that he didn't even know how to mourne him really took hold in my brain. Then came the episode "Fated to Pretend" and suddenly I was hooked on the sexual tension between Mick and Josef that (I thought) was so evident in the "turning" scene. This little introspective fic is the fruit of that fascination...

Rated M for mature audiences... Note: Moonlight does not belong to me in any way, shape or form. I am making no money from this endeavor.

THE WEDDING DRESS

For any of you who have read Susan Kay’s Phantom and wondered how the wedding dress scene might have gone from Erik’s perspective, this is just one take on how it might have come down. I have an improved version, but I can't access it for another couple of weeks, so I'm going to post the version I posted on Fanfiction.net. Enjoy!
